Personal Info:
Justin Freeman began skiing at the age of 26 months. He first
career victory was achieved in a BKL race in his home town
of Andover NH in February of 1984 (the rival who had been
besting him all season failed to show). A lackluster junior
career (Justin never qualified for Junior Nationals) rapidly
turned around during Justin's college years, where he was
a three time All American (twice in skiing, once in cross
country running) for Bates College. Justin juggled a graduate
program in physics with ski racing for two years, but after
twice missing World Championship teams by seconds, he took
up full time skiing for the 2001-2002 season and won the overall
NorAm title that year. Justin was a member of the 2003 World
Championship Team, spent two years (2003-2005) on the US Ski
Team, and competed in the Torino Olympics in 2006. His best
international results include a 31st at the Soldier Hollow
World Cup in 2001, and a 41st at World Championships in 2003.
Justin has one national title, ten national championship podium
finishes, and ten SuperTour victories to his credit. He has
been lying low after the Olympics, working as a teacher at
New Hampton School in New Hampshire and dodging questions
about his future international plans. Justin became a father
on October 7, 2006, when his daugher Iris was born. |
